Credentials:

Karen Phillips is a registered Naturopathic Nutritional Therapist and is not a medical doctor. She does not contradict a medical doctor’s prescribed treatment plan , but instead works to support the body around the prescribed treatment. She is a member of the Association of Naturopathic Practitioners (ANP).

Payment and Fees:

Full payment for all consultations is required at the time of booking. Payment must be made in GBP. Fees are outlined in detail on the website and are subject to change without prior notice.

Tests, supplements, and follow-up consultations are not included in the initial consultation fee. If you have any queries regarding fees for consultations, tests, or supplements, please seek clarification prior to proceeding.

In the event of a failed payment, the booking will not be processed nor confirmed.

Payment is processed through Stripe. Karen Phillips Natural Health does not view or store credit/debit card details or bank details.

Additional Charges:

Should functional testing be recommended, the purpose and pricing of this will be discussed with you before booking any such tests. There is no obligation to proceed with any functional testing. Payments must be made in advance of all test bookings.

Supplements may be recommended as part of a personalised plan. We offer a 20% discount on selected supplements. Payment must be made in advance of all orders.

Should a request outside of an appointment be made for analysis of test results, or letters and reports to be sent to doctors, social services, or other entities, this will incur an additional charge. The time required for report preparation is billed at a pro-rata rate of £175 per hour.

Clinic Policies:

All consultations are conducted online by video conferencing unless otherwise arranged.

Clients undergoing functional testing must schedule a follow-up consultation to review test results before they are released.

Cancellations:

Appointments must be cancelled before 48 hours of their booked consultation in order to receive a refund. An administration fee of £25 will be deducted from any refund processed.

Cancellations made within 48 hours of the consultation are subject to charges as follows:

- within 48 hours’ notice: 75% of the consultation fee

- within 24 hours’ notice: 100% of the consultation fee

Rescheduling:

Appointments can be rescheduled free of charge before 48 hours of the booked consultation, and must be rescheduled in the 14 days following the booked consultation. Appointments rescheduled within 48 hours of the consultation will be subject to a charge of 25% of the consultation fee. An administration fee of £25 will be deducted from any charges processed.

Scope of Practice:

The therapist:

• Naturopathic nutritional advice will be tailored to support medically diagnosed conditions and/or health concerns agreed and identified by the two parties

• Naturopathic nutritional therapists are not permitted to diagnose or claim to treat medical conditions

• Naturopathic nutritional therapy is not a substitute for professional medical advice and treatment

The client:

• You are responsible for contacting your GP or specialist about any health concerns you may have

• Please advise your GP of the naturopathic nutrition protocol you will be following

• Please also advise any other complementary medicine practitioners you are consulting

• It is important that you tell your therapist about any medical diagnosis you have received, any prescription medication, herbal medicine or food supplements or over-the-counter medication you are taking as it may affect the naturopathic nutritional programme

• Do not discontinue prescribed medications without prior approval from your GP

• If you are unclear about any part of your plan, then you should contact your therapist immediately for clarification

• Your naturopathic nutritional programme and supplement plan will have a time frame, and you should not continue with recommendations outside of this unless agreed by your naturopathic nutritional therapist. This is to avoid any adverse reactions

• Please report any concerns about your programme to your naturopathic nutritional therapist immediately, for discussion at your next consultation

• The consultation will last approximately 2 hours (initial) and 1 hour (follow up)

• Your personal data will be stored under UK GDPR conditions, as outlined in the Privacy Policy section on this website

Insurance Coverage:

Karen Phillips hold full Health Professional Liability insurance with Balens Ltd (UK).

Confidentiality:

All client information and discussions are strictly confidential. However, should Karen Phillips have serious concerns regarding your safety or the safety of others, confidentiality may be lawfully lifted. In such instances, she may be legally or ethically obliged to communicate with relevant professionals or agencies (such as the police, social services in cases involving children or vulnerable adults, or a GP in cases of self-harm) without your explicit consent. You acknowledge that you may or may not be informed of such disclosures. Where permissible by law, details of such communication will be made available to you.

Email Communication:

Clients may contact Karen Phillips Natural Health via email in the following circumstances:

- Seeking clarification on recommendations from the last consultation

- Reporting significant changes in mood or physical symptoms following treatment

- Notifying changes in prescribed medications or personal circumstances

- To submit any complaints or concerns

Should a detailed discussion be required or a new issue arises, clients are advised to schedule follow-up consultation.

Please allow up to three working days for email responses.
